IMPACTS Lab

The Investigations on Mechanisms and Predictors of links between Physical Activity, other behaviours and Health Trajectories Laboratory is managed by Professor Mathieu Bélanger and by Professor Saïd Mekary at the Centre de formation médicale du Nouveau-Brunswick. This laboratory is dedicated to the development of new knowledge necessary to improve, evaluate and apply the best interventions for dealing with physical inactivity, which is recognized as the most prevalent modifiable risk factor for chronic diseases and mortality in Canada. This laboratory is also involved in the pursuit of epidemiological studies on diabetes and other chronic diseases. Overall, the laboratory research results are used to identify the most effective clinical and public health practices.
