The Université de Sherbrooke’s health sciences research programs are offered at the Centre de formation médicale du Nouveau-Brunswick in Moncton. The IMPACTS Laboratory is currently recruiting master’s and doctoral students, as well as postdoctoral fellows. The IMPACTS Lab is a leader in developing knowledge aimed at highlighting the power of healthy lifestyle behaviors in reducing the burden of chronic disease.
Current recruitment opportunities
PROJECT 1: You will collaborate with national sport organizations and use large-scale databases to analyze and assess equity in sport participation and access. Your contribution will help develop a fair and inclusive sport system across the country.
PROJECT 2: You will contribute to the development and evaluation of a community-based program aimed at maintaining healthy lifestyle behaviors after cardiac rehabilitation. Your contribution will help improve continuity of care in New Brunswick.
PROJECT 3: You will contribute to the coordination and evaluation of the impact of a hospital-based physical activity program designed to improve physical activity, posture, and patient frailty. Your contribution will help enhance the delivery of healthcare services in hospital settings.
PROJECT 4: You will contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying (cardio)vascular dysfunctions resulting from prolonged sitting in men and women. Your contribution will provide important insights into the applied physiology of sedentary postures, cardiac health, and sex difference.
Desired Candidate Profiles
For each of the above projects, ideal candidates have:
- An excellent academic record;
- A strong interest in physical activity, nutrition, or the promotion of healthy lifestyle behaviors;
- Motivation to contribute to research with real-world impact on clinical practices and population health;
- The ability to pursue studies in French (this requirement does not apply to postdoctoral fellows).
